A Bengaluru-based techie and amateur runner shared his Diwali greetings with the tweeples on X, with a picture of a GPS art he created. The user tried creating a Diya 🪔 (clay lamp) by taking a 5-kilometer run across a few localities in town. The Hyderabad native software engineer ran across Indira Nagar and Kodihalli while also crossing Doopanahalli and tried to make diya with three loops. The larger one signifying the clay lamp, and the smaller two representing the flame of the festival of lights. The user also clarified that they could not find a curved street for the flame. The art was created using Strava, a fitness tracking app that is used by athletes, especially runners and cyclists. It helps keep track of outdoor activities with the help of GPS. The user also shared the link to the GPS art on Strava that shows the complete distance of the run on October 31 at 2:27 pm was 5.4 kilometers, which was accomplished in 34 minutes.
Happy Deepawali 🪔 people, tried making a diya over a run, please rate it 🙂 pic.twitter.com/CDAlyW1sz4— thilak (@thilak_ch) October 31, 2024

While several appreciated the GPS Diya art, others took potshots at the user for hilariously failing to achieve the desired design of the diya. To some, the art oddly resembled a western commode / toilet. One user jibed, “Thoda aur daud lete bhai, commode lag raha.” (Should have run a bit more, bro; it’s looking like a commode right now.) The user also re-oriented the image to prove their point. Several other users agreed too; however, the techie only wished them back. Meanwhile, a handful of other users related the art with the docker logo. One user labeled it as ‘minecraft diwali diya.’
