26-year-old Barsha Priyadarshini, a government employee, under labor asked her supervisor for leave on October 25. The leave was denied, which led to a painful miscarriage. The mother of irony is that Barsha is an employee at the Women and Child Development Department in Derabish block of Kendrapara district (Odisha). According to reports, the lady shared her harrowing plight with the media. She was seven months pregnant and experienced severe labor pain during working hours. She accused the CDPO Snehalata Sahoo and other officials for disregarding her requests for hospital assistance. In distress, her family rushed the pregnant woman to a private medical facility in the district. Upon diagnosis, it was confirmed that her unborn child died. The lady filed a formal complaint about mental harassment at the hands of CDPO and requested the district collector to take stringent action. Meanwhile, the CDPO shrugged off the allegations, stating that she had no knowledge of Barsha’s condition!
